UK regulator recalls clopidogrel oral liquids after batches found under-strength

Xeal Pharma is recalling all previously produced batches of its clopidogrel oral suspension and solution after finding they contained about 76% of the labelled dose. The UK regulator says patients may not receive their prescribed amount, although no harm has been reported and long-term preventative-treatment risk is judged limited. Patients should not stop clopidogrel abruptly; pharmacists and prescribers are expected to review affected treatments and arrange alternatives where necessary.
