WFP cuts Gaza food assistance to 1.1 million people amid funding shortfall

Al Jazeera

The World Food Programme says funding shortages are forcing it to reduce monthly food assistance in Gaza from 1.6 million people to 1.1 million. Families will receive smaller rations, while daily hot meals will fall from 250,000 to 150,000. The agency says it received less than half its previous funding for the Palestine operation and needs another $450 million for six months. Food insecurity has improved modestly but remains widespread and fragile.
