LangSmith adds shared and per-user credentials for Managed Deep Agents

langchain.com

LangSmith's Connections feature separates the identity an agent acts under from the credential type it uses. Developers can configure a deployment-wide secret or OAuth grant, or resolve credentials for the individual caller. The vendor says Managed Deep Agents handles authorization and token storage, reducing custom OAuth code. The useful distinction is accountability: a shared capability can use a service identity, while a user-specific action can retain that person's permissions and authorship.

What matters

  • Credential ownership is set when the connection is created; the runtime lookup selects an existing configuration.
  • Missing user grants pause execution for authorization rather than silently using a shared account.
  • The feature ships in a prerelease; provider catalog and behavior depend on the installed version.
